Camping!

Here in the Sacramento, CA, when the summer comes, we go to the Sierra Nevada mountains for relief. When it's 90 degrees in the valley, the mountains may be 10 to 15 degrees cooler.

Sarah and I went camping this weekend along the South fork of the Yuba River. To get to the camping spot, we have to 4-wheel my truck in and cross a river. The camp site sits along the river, secluded from most of civilization.

We camped for 3 days and had a great time swimming, fishing, and four-wheeling.

For breakfast the last morning, we had Zoe the Cat pancakes...

Arrrrggggghhhhhh!

Look at that ground sheet! It's all hanging out all over the place! If it rains, all the water will roll down the side of your tent, collect on the ground sheet and puddle under your tent.

Tuck that sucker in. All around. Nothing showing. That will keep you high and dry with water flowing UNDER your tent, not THROUGH it.

Rain. It's that stuff that comes out of the sky when you leave your ground sheet untucked.

Tom umm....had a few...ummm drinks, and tucking the ground sheet in could have resulted in him tripping and falling the 10 feet into the creek next to his tent.
